Australia: Three long-serving Members of the NSW Farmers’ Association have been recognised by the Association on the first day of 2010 Annual Conference: value of Agriculture.
Former Board Directors Richard Clark, Alan Brown and Andrew Forrest are all due to receive the Medal of Honour, with Alan Brown receiving his medal today.
NSW Farmers’ Association President Charles Armstrong says the recipients have each been recognised for their long-standing commitment to the ideals of the Association.
“These three recipients have each demonstrated their dedication to the agricultural industry and the Association, and I am very pleased to see such worthy recipients of the Medal of Honour Awards,” Mr Armstrong said.
Alan Brown of Tarcutta was elected to General Council in 1998, and has served the Association both as a Vice President from 2008 to 2009, and Chairman of the Rural Affairs Committee. He also served on the Agricultural Chemicals Committee.
Richard Clark of Boggabilla served as the Senior Vice President of the Association from 2007 to 2009. After being elected to General Council in 1995, he has also served on the Business Economics and Trade Committee and the Grains Committee.
Andrew Forrest of Wallendbeen was elected to General Council in 1996 and to the Executive Council (known now as the Board) in July 2001. In 2003 he was elected Vice President until 2005, then going on to continue serving as a Board Member until 2009.
Richard Clark and Andrew Forrest will receive their medals at a later date.
“Each of the Award recipients have made an outstanding contribution to our Association over many years, and we would like to acknowledge this,” Mr Armstrong concluded.
