India: Commenting on June trade data, Mr A. Sakthivel, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said that continuous growth in export by about 30% for the last eight months shows the resilience of the exporters and innovative policy approach of the Government. Mr Sakthivel said that the focus given by theMinistry of Commerce both for diversification of products as well asmarket has started yielding results but we have to go a long way before expending our exports to all over the world.

FIEO Chief highlighted that exporters are concerned with the cost of export credit and are eagerly awaiting for the announcement of export credit rate in the new base rate regime.He added that government should ensure that exporters get credit at the base rate itself. Looking at the long term perspective, Mr Sakthivel said that we are on our course to realize US$ 200 billion target during the current financial year.
